Summary: This story begins with Bella Swan, who has just moved to Forks, Washington to live with her father. She meets the mysterious Edward and begins to fall in love with him. He's a vampire-- although a "vegetarian" one, which means he only drinks the blood of animals. This is a very exciting and action-packed story about teenage angst and true love.

Evaluation: Although some teenage boys like the series, these books are mainly popular with teen girls. This is a great recreational read, especially for reluctant readers. Although Meyer's writing is not fabulous she does tell a fabulous story. It's very easy to get caught up in the story and it reads quickly. Great for a traveling book, when you're stuck on a plane or in a car.
